When picking the makeup artist there are a lot of factors that come into play, especially in a city like Seattle, that is pouring with talent in the beauty industry. Before I list some great artists, here are some of my biggest tips.

• Consider the look you’re going for, and find similar looks in their portfolios. This will be a good way of weeding out those that do not specialize in what you’re looking for, while being able to point out their past bride when referencing the look you’re going for. There’s nothing like the reassurance that they have done your dream look before, and can replicate it if desired. Remember to consider skin tones, see if your dream artist has previous clients with your similar shade of skin!

• Reviews, reviews, reviews! Read up on their timeliness, their talent, and the longevity of past brides’ makeup looks. Remember, you will be dancing, smiling, occasionally crying, and sweating over the course of your wedding day! • Pricing. We love a great deal, however especially in the wedding industry- remember that you get what you pay for. While considering your budget, make sure to really think hard about how much your makeup (and hair) will play into the day as a whole.
