The MV Skansonia Wedding in Seattle
I didn’t get to meet Stephanie and Mike before the big day due to our busy schedules, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I first walked through the hotel room door, Stephanie was instantly kind and welcoming and diminished any fears I may have had. Stephanie was radiating with love and happiness and I could see the excitement on her face. It was the same when I met Mike. Honestly, Mike and Stephanie are two of the kindest and most humble people I’ve ever crossed paths with. They are so in love and it showed throughout their beautiful and joyous day. These two lovebirds held their special day at The MV Skansonia in Seattle. The venue was nestled on the water in a beautiful boat and the gorgeous view of Seattle and all its beauty. The venue was beautiful and had such a nice vintage, yet elegant feel to it. Mike and Stephanie couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful setting for such a perfect day.
Stephanie and Mike’s day started with them getting ready at the Roosevelt in downtown Seattle. Stephanie’s beautiful family joined her and helped her get ready for her big day. Shortly after that we took a trip to Gasworks Park to get some bride and groom portraits. The weather brought about rain as soon as we reached Gasworks park, but we still managed to capture some great shots of the lovely bride and groom! Soon after that we all headed to the venue to prepare for the commencement of the ceremony. While waiting on the ceremony, we took it upon ourselves to get some detail shots in. It was the perfect time to get them done. I would describe the details of the day as nautical and romantic.
Stephanie and Mike’s ceremony was so unique and beautiful. No one was seated at all. Everyone was standing around the bride and groom, huddled together, all snug and tight. It was intimate and brought this sense of togetherness. It was a ceremony full of love and unity. I mean, it was pretty indescribable. Mike and Stephanie exchanged vows that they had written to each other and finally, after all the planning and prepping, said their “I do’s!” They were so happy to finally seal the deal and be called Mr. and Mrs. Sperry!!!!!
Now, it’s time for the reception! Receptions are one of my favorite times during weddings. That’s usually when the bride, groom, family, and friends break loose and shake what their mommy’s gave them! After all, it’s a celebration of unity, love, and marriage! The Sperry’s enjoyed themselves throughout the night and had a blast celebrating their unity together. I can only wish these two a lifetime full of bliss! Love and many blessings, Mr. and Mrs. Sperry, and thank you for allowing me to capture your day!
The intimate ceremony
After the ceremony the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Sperry signed their marriage license and enjoyed a glass of wine while they were at it.
