I love being a Tacoma based wedding and elopement photographer. I have had the honor of shooting weddings at some of my favorite Tacoma venues! In this blog, I’ll be compiling a list of my favorites to hopefully help you narrow down some of your options. Without further ado, here are my top 5 Tacoma, Washington wedding venues.

Thornewood Castle

First up on the list of my top 5 Tacoma, Washington wedding venues is Thornewood Castle! It’s located just 12 miles south of Tacoma, a quick, 10 minute drive from downtown. Thornewood offers both indoor and outdoor venue options, depending on what style you want to go with! If you want to tour this venue before you book it, you do have to make an appointment to do so. They also have a wide array of Honeymoon Suites to choose from if you and your partner wanted to stay a night or two! For weekend events during peak wedding season (May-September), their packages start at around $5950. Keep in mind, this rate is for up to 50 guests. To get in touch with them.

Chambers Bay Golf Course

Floor to ceiling windows, expansive golf course, and views of a snow-capped mountain range? That’s only a fraction of what Chamber’s Bay has to offer in terms of venue experience. The 4,000 square foot pavilion can accommodate up to 250 guests, so you should have plenty of space for your event here. If you want a more intimate atmosphere, they also offer a covered patio space with incredible views overlooking the golf course! They even have an in-house catering service that will work with you to create the menu of your dreams. Copper Gables Barn

This 10,000 square foot, 2 story barn is by far one of the best gems Tacoma has to offer. And of course why it’s on the list of my top 5 Tacoma, Washington wedding venues! Copper Gables can hold up to 200 guests all year round, and it’s fully heated. You also have the option of utilizing their 800 square foot covered deck if you want your event in the summertime.

The outdoor courtyard is also a great option if you want an outdoor venue space, as it is fully fenced and is landscaped with heirloom climbing roses, wisteria, & an antique french water fountain. Another perk of this venue is that it’s kind of an all in one – complete with ‘getting ready’ suites for each partner! You can Contact Copper Gables Barn If you’re interested to join them. PS – They even have a calendar on their website of all their open dates, so you can make sure they have yours available before even inquiring with them!

Courthouse Square

If you’re looking for a more unique event space, I would definitely recommend looking into Courthouse Square. They have 4 different venue options, all with distinctly different tastes in mind. The Ballroom (which is the main space) has stunning floor to ceiling windows with impeccable views of Downtown Tacoma and Mount Rainier. It was originally a federal courtroom, but was remodeled in 2015 so that it could accommodate different events! One of the other spaces, The Gallery, was originally a post office warehouse and was remodeled in 2016. How cool is that? For exact guest counts and rates, you can check courthouse square website.

Waterfront Venue

Waterfront Venue at Narrows Marina is exactly how it sounds – a venue with beautiful water views located right on the shores of Puget Sound. This is a 20,000 square foot event space, which is the biggest venue on my list today! If you’re looking for some of the best views in Tacoma, this is definitely the place to check out! It offers panoramic views of Puget Sound, Narrows Bridge, and the Olympic Mountains. I’m telling you, there’s a reason it’s one of my top 5 Tacoma, Washington wedding venues!

At maximum capacity, Waterfront Venue can accommodate up to 500 guests. Keep in mind they start hosting events during the first week of June every year. They have 4 different designated event spaces, and three additional spaces that are included in all of their rental packages. For weekend weddings, their rates start at $5,000 and you can reach out to them to book a waterfront venue tour!
