Types Of Elopements – Which Is Your Style?

Wedding Planning Tips

So, you know you want to elope, but you don’t know what kind of style you want to go for. There are tons of different types of elopements ideas out there. This can either make deciding what’s right for you and your partner either easy or difficult. In this blog post, I’m going to list a few different types of elopements. I’m also going to include some ideas along with them to hopefully help you get a better idea of what may fit your relationship’s style.

Types Of Elopements: Spiritual Elopement

To me, this one means that you go and elope just the two of you. This way you can be fully connected with your spouse, doing what you want, wherever you want, however you want. 100% intentional with your deepest selves just you two.

Idea(s):
Do whatever you want. Go to the courthouse, a quiet place, your home, literally wherever.

Types Of Elopements

Nature Elopement

Do you guys love nature? Maybe you spend a lot of time in nature, doing things like walking in a park, hiking, fishing, or having picnics.

Idea(s):
Waterfall elopement, picnic elopement, mountain elopement, or a lake elopement. Pretty much anywhere outside.

Sporty Elopement

Are you two into sports? Why not have this personal touch added to your special day. You can invite family or guests to participate (or not).

Idea(s):
Horseback riding, kayaking, riding bikes, playing the sport you both love the most. Or maybe you two are more of an extreme sports kind of couple. In that case, go sky diving or mountain climbing.

Beach Elopement

Who doesn’t love the sound of crashing waves, the feeling of sand between the toes, and the sight of an open horizon? This one is definitely a dreamy and stunning option.

Idea(s):
Having a picnic out on the beach or running into the ocean together after the ceremony.

City Elopement

Maybe you two just love being in the city with the constant movement, endless possibilities, and the feeling of being in the center of everything.

Idea(s):
Whatever a cool spot is in your city or a spot that means something to the two of you. Examples could be a big bridge, a garage rooftop, or the street of your favorite coffee shop.

Destination Elopement

Now is the time to go to that dream destination of yours and make it even more special by eloping there. This can be as crazy or as realistic as you want it to be. Destination elopements are always a fun idea!

Idea(s):
Choosing a location that you have always dreamed of going to or that special vacation spot you two always go to together or somewhere near family that lives abroad. A cool thing about destination elopements is that if you wanted to, you could go straight into your honeymoon right after!

It’s your elopement, your special day, you can do whatever you want. This blog post is meant to give you ideas and inspiration for what you can do for your elopement. I have been a photographer at a few different types of elopements and they all are so very beautiful. So, whatever you choose to do, know that it will be a beautiful time.

"We highly recommend Lessie. She is GREAT!!"

Lessie is an amazing photographer. We could not be happier with our wedding photos. I love that she included many unique shots that I wouldn't have thought of but that I really love. Also, along with the photos of my husband and me and photos of both sides of the bridal party, she captured many of the wonderful smaller moments and details that are hard to notice amidst the busy-ness of the wedding day. We loved seeing those smaller details and the candid photos of friends and family as well. They're all very special to us.
