6 Ways To Have Fun While Getting Ready For Wedding

My Blog

A wedding day is such a memorable time in someone’s life, but that doesn’t mean just the ceremony and reception. It is the whole day, from getting pampered that morning to dancing the last dance with all of your guests, and everything in between.

That morning when you are getting ready for wedding with all of your closest friends (and family maybe), you want to celebrate this momentous time in your life. It’s already so special to get ready for an event with your best friends, but why not elevate the experience? In this blog post, I will give you a mix of fun and relaxing ideas to do with your bridal party that morning to make it an unforgettable experience.

Have A Slumber Party The Night Before

Who said you had to wait till the day of your wedding to start celebrating? Go ahead get your bridal party together and have a sleepover together! What better way to start the wedding festivities than to watch cheesy movies, swap stories, and laugh with your best friends. You can either book a Hotel/AirBnB for a night, stay at your venue if they have that as an option, or stay at one of your houses if it’s close enough to your wedding venue.

Wear Matching Outfits

Having getting-ready outfits like matching bride and bridesmaid robes or silk button-down pajamas is the best accessory for your wedding morning. Plus, they make for such cute pictures! But matching robes aren’t just picturesque – they’re practical too! When everyone has finished getting their hair and makeup done and ready to change into their wedding attire, all you have to do is untie the robe or unbutton the PJs! No having to try to squeeze your head through the top hole of a t-shirt that could possibly smear your makeup or mess up your freshly done hair. Then after the wedding, you and your girls can keep them as a memory of that sweet time you spent together on your wedding day morning.

Have Some Bubbly

Kick off all the celebrations with a little bit of bubbly! A mimosa bar is a great and super fun option to include in your getting ready for wedding experience. Create a mimosa bar for you and your friends to indulge in while everyone’s getting their hair and makeup done. Take the time to really relax while getting ready together before all of the hectic events begin.

You can for sure make this mimosa bar a picture-worthy thing! Buy some personalized champagne glasses, add some fruit to garnish, and get a cute sign or backdrop from Etsy (or DIY it) to decorate.

Have A Fun Playlist

It’s not a real party without a fire playlist. Playing all of your favorite tunes during your wedding morning will create the most enjoyable atmosphere and definitely get everyone in the celebratory mood! Fill it with upbeat and romantic songs that will excite everyone and help eliminate any jitters one might have. Really take this time to just sing and dance with your bridesmaids and have fun!

Remember To Eat

Sometimes with all the pre-wedding nerves or having so much fun getting ready, you can forget that you need to actually fuel your body for the big day. Remember, it’s probably going to be a long time until your next meal. I wouldn’t recommend anything salty, greasy, or heavy because everyone still wants to look their best and feel confident in what they’re wearing that day. So while everyone is getting ready for wedding, or if you have time to all sit down together, have a healthy breakfast to indulge in before the day gets even more hectic! A few recommendations that I have seen some of my brides have is a cheese board, fruit platter, finger sandwiches, and protein bars. These all make for the perfect snacks to nibble on while fueling you up for the rest of your day.

Capture Every Moment Getting Ready For Wedding

Why wouldn’t you want to have pictures you can look back on to remember this precious time you spent with your bridal party? Yes, selfies are nice and easy, but you probably won’t be thinking to pull out your phone to take pictures of every cherishable moment. So, have your photographer come early enough in the day to capture you and your bridal party getting ready, but also so you can get a few pictures of you all afterward since everyone’s hair and makeup will all be at their best at the beginning of the day.

I love the thought of doing these extra little things with your bridal party the morning of to pay some attention to the moments before getting in front of everyone and starting the big event. So, here’s to creating the ultimate getting ready for wedding experience for you and your wedding party! Oh and last thing, remember to take a deep breath and relax. Don’t stress about how your wedding is going to go and if everything is going to be perfect. Focus on each moment you’re in and just soak all of it up!
